Soundtrack of My Life

1. Loser- Beck
I moved houses a lot as a child making it hard to have a lot a close friends. It kind of made me feel a little like an outsider at times and the song kind of talk about that.

2. Friend of God- Israel & The New Breed
This song represents my faith in and what i believe in

3. Hey Joe- Jimi Hendrix
I have always been an old school type of guy and one of the biggest areas that's shown is in my music. I love the real music of the 60's and 70's and my favorite musician ever is Jimi Hendrix, something a lot of people might not expect

4 The World Is Your- Nas
This song reminds me that you can achieve great things no matter where you come from. and to keep on pushing through tough times

5. Fight The Power- Public Enemy
This is probably the song i would want people to hear to remember me by. I'm not sure why but this song to me is the anthem rising up against a enemy. Whether its is racial like the song truly emphasis or any other situation, fight the power is the song that relates to my life the most

All Shook Up Epilogue

Though rock n roll is not as big as it was back in the 60's it still deserve it rightful place in american history. The music of the 50's and 60's helped pave the way for most of the things we listen to today. Musicians now have so much freedom the speak about what is on their minds thanks the pioneers of those early eras. And even though music is not a cultural movement like it was before i have learned than it still can have great effects on people's lives.

The quick bio on Bruce Springsteen was a perfect example to me of how music can first change a person, and then later go on to change the world. His story is so interesting, and confused kid with not much ambition so saw the great Elvis on TV and it change his life for ever. And through the years of Bruce's career we have seen him change the world and mark his stamp on music as well. Which is something i think a lot of musician are missing these days, they have such freedom to express and really make a difference in this world but they choose to write and sing about lesser things. My favorite music is Hip Hop and this is a great example, before rappers told of story about the struggle and wanted the world to take a look at what was really going on in the world. Expressing themselves much like the early rockin rollers, bringing everyone together and giving them something they could all relate to.

So overall as i finish this book and learn more about the true origins of rock and its contribution to the world i have learn a lot. Before i was not really into the thought that music could really change anything or really have that big of a impact. but as i have read on the learned more i realize that it not only had a great impact but it is still changing a lot of america today even though the message may not be the same

Happy Songs

Celebrations- Kool & The Gang
I can remember hearing this songs at my dad's surprise party for his 40th birthday. So it brings back good memories plus its the kind of nice song that just stuck in your head when you hear it.

No Woman No Cry
Most of Bob Marley's songs are positive keeping the peace with everyone songs and this is just another one of those and possibly his most famous

Pursuit of Happiness-Kid Cudi
Even though Kid Cudi's pursuit of happiness is a combination of weed and alcohol it still a pretty song that talks about living life to the fullest

Today Was a Good Day- Ice Cube
This whole is about how ice cube had a perfect day with no trouble at all. The day was so good it even surprised him

Good Vibrations- Beach Boys
Now i don't know much about the beach boys personally but my astronomy teacher use to play this song all the time before class. And i do know that they made a lot of happy or funny pop songs back in there day

Sex N Drugs songs

Sex and Drugs-Hyper Crush
I think the title of the song explains why i put it on this list

Dr. Feelgood- Motley Crue
This entire song a story about a drug lord named Jimmy who deals cocaine throughout Hollywood. Surprisingly Motley Crue who were known as heavy drug users were completely sober during the recording of this entire album

I Got 5 On It-Luniz
The whole song is all about them smoking and selling weed and it happen to be there one and only hit single

Me So Horny- 2 live crew
There not much to say about this song either, the title pretty much explains what meaning of this song is. Its actually pretty funny to listen to though

Sex & Drugs and Rock n Roll- Ian Dury and the Blockhead
I just heard this song over the weekend while research for this blog and if you were ti listen you would know why i put it on this list. Like most of my songs the title is enough to explain why it here

Top 5 Hated Songs

5. Pretty Boy Swag- Soulja Boy
Of all the sorry rappers that are out right now soulja boy is battling for the top spot. And just when i thought it couldn't get any worse he comes out with this song. He is part of the reason i cant stand a lot of modern day rap.

4. Lemonade- Gucci Mane
Gucci mane is also in the running for worst rapper I've ever seen. I don't even know what he is saying half the time it sound like he mumbling through this entire song and most of his other songs. it truly a shame that people like this can make millions of bucks when they have no talent

3. Like a Rolling Stone- Bob Dylan
I don't like Bob Dylan, there is said it i know, and to a lot of older people i mite be committing a sin. but I listen to a lot of music from different time period and genres but he just someone i can't get. His music is low and unexciting, and this song which everyone seems to think is so great really i as prime example of that.

2. Technologic- Daft Punk
My older sister love daft punk so naturally i have to hate it. She plays this stupid song in her car and in the house all the time. it has to be one of the most annoying songs you will ever hear in your life. I think she plays it so much just to get on my nerves

1. Ice Ice Baby- Vanilla Ice
Is this even a debate this is arguably the worst song ever made. First off he stole the beat from Queen and then refused to pay for the rights. And on top of that the song is worrible which is a slap in the face to Freddie Mercury. It may have been popular back in the 90's but listen to it now and it makes you wonder what adults were thinking back then. And even Ice gets angry when people mention the song to him so what does that tell you?

Top 5 Songs

My top 5 songs

5. Kick Push- Lupe Fiasco
Lupe fiasco is my favorite rapper and this was his first ever hit back in 2006 of his first album Food & Liquor. It was also Grammy nominated

4. Breaking the Habit- Linkin Park
In my opinion their best song, off the album Meteora. I've always like linkin park because of there mix of rap and rock in there songs. This isn't really one of those songs but it's still my favorite

3. The Message- Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five
To me this is the greatest rap song ever. Before it came out back in 1982 rap was more of a disco like thing. But this song completely change the game, it was one of the first songs to talk about the struggles from living in the ghetto.

2. Clint Eastwood-Gorillaz
The first single off their self titled album. Don't have much of a explanation as to why i love this song so much, i only have two gorillaz songs but i have overplayed this song since it came out back in 2001.

1. Hey Joe- Jimi Hendrix Experience
Jimi Hendrix is without a doubt my favorite artist of all time. And his first ever hit off the album Are You Experienced which is arguably the greatest rock album off all time was an instant classic. This song put Jimi and his band on the map and was the beginning of his short but legendary career. Also with this song Hendrix introduces his unique guitar playing skills that are still appreciated today. This is no question my favorite song from who i believe is the greatest solo rock artist
